Dora Maar - "Geneva"
Song details - This song was written sometime last year, it was the first riff we ever jammed on.
Band - From the heavy waters of Mother Earth, comes Dora Maar. Just under a year old she has learned to walk and to fuzz out in a three piece suit taking no note of those who came before her. Humanity and/or a lack of serve as inspiration for what she plays which is projected to you via a series of vibrations through your speakers. It's music for minds sake, and love for hearts sake. THE HOLY SOUL
Since touring Europe with Mudhoney in support of their debut album 'Sign of the Triangle' in 2006, The Holy Soul have logged a whole lot of live shows around the country and recorded a second LP, 'Damn You, Ra', due for release soon after they return from an Asian tour in August. 'Ra' was recorded at Jon Hunter's studio (Magnetic Recording Council), and it is the band's first long player to feature Hunter on guitar and Kate Wilson (The Laurels, ex-redsunband) on drums. The album includes contributions from Kate Mara, Ralph Carney, Rui Pereira and Loene Carmen. In between regular Holy Soul duties, the band has backed Can singer Damo Suzuki in a number of improvised performances, one of which will be released as a live album in the coming months.
Jon Hunter on 'I'm Spent': "This song is my collapse. In rough times we're told to keep our heads up and walk on. At this point I had walked far enough and found myself alone in my studio in the middle of industrial Western Sydney with an empty bottle of spirits and enough rage to take on a bull but a body too weak to continue."

The Band:
Reptiles is a young melbourne band that's sound is reminiscent of some late 80's bands such as Gun Club who had a sound entrenched in swampy guitar tones and punk. The band earnt a local rep' early on by often playing at infamous and now closed melbourne night spot 3rd Class despite the fact that their sound clashed with the popular nu-rave sounds of the club. Their debut Australian release was the EP Smell My Skin which found its way into stores and critical acclaim over christmas time 2008.

A few You Tube videos:
Geneva is about the particle accelerator also know as the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland and where advancing science and technology is taking us as a race - it is likely to end with our demise. This is our only song with a direct (and physical) subject matter, but being nerds how could we not write a song about the L.H.C.
